Congressman Ted Yoho Addressed the Jax Council Annual Dinner Meeting

80 members and their guests attended the Annual Meeting and Installation of Officers to ring in an exciting new year for the Jacksonville Council of Navy League!

Congressman Ted Yoho was our guest speaker, Hugh Howton was honored for his stellar contributions to Navy League, and new officers were sworn in and installed. This event is one of the highlights of our year, and this year’s program was be exceptional.

Congressman Yoho serves as chair and member on several committees in the House of Representatives. As Chair, House Subcommittee for Asia and the Pacific, he works with nation members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). His attendance at our event coincided with a visit to Florida by the ambassador and other dignitaries from the Embassy of Viet Nam. We were honored by the attendance of Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh, his wife and several senior staff from his embassy.

Congressman Ted S. Yoho represents North Central Florida’s 3rd Congressional District. He was elected to the 113th Congress in November, 2012, and is serving his third term in the people’s house. In the 115th Congress, Ted became the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific. His approach to government is guided by constitutional principles, limited government, fiscal conservatism, personal responsibility, and free enterprise. These principles keep Congressman Yoho focused on supporting bills that help make America strong. Congressman Yoho graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Animal Science and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and operated several veterinary clinics prior to serving in Congress. When he is not in Washington representing constituents and serving the country he loves, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, cheering on the Gators, and, when time permits, fishing.
